My Mission:
By pursuing the authentic self of each client, I hope to
inspire my clients to pursue, enjoy and actively create more meaning and purpose in their lives,
work and relationships.
My Philosophy:
I believe that you are fully equipped with everything you need to succeed abundantly in every area of your life! I also believe that you, like me, have a personal calling and that each one of us is on a journey to realizing and fulfilling our unique purpose in life.
My goal as your coach is to join with you exactly where you are in life's journey, regardless of where it has taken you in the past. I believe in bringing out the best in you, right now, and helping you move in a direction that serves you best! By partnering together, we will discover where your unique goals and ambitions will take you, as well as identify the barriers that could sabotage your progress along the way. My hope as your coach is that you will begin to take the critical steps toward creating a life that really matters to you and really makes you feel alive!
About Jacqui:
Today I am continually building and living the life of my dreams! I immensely enjoy the privilege of connecting with people through coaching and I am challenged daily to be the best Jacqui I can be. I am very
passionate about helping people to create a broader vision for their lives and approach life with growth and teach-ability rather than mistrust and hostility. If you're wondering about what I'm like in person, others might tell you that I have a positive and contagious energy about me. I am often told that I have the ability to create an open and accepting environment, while at the same time addressing the real truths that facilitate
growth and
change in a person.
I should also tell you that I haven't always been this fulfilled in my life. Only a few years ago, it was I who was unable to face, let alone change , my own desperate situation. I was 50 pounds overweight and felt I had already given myself a life sentence to obesity! I wasted a lot of time internalizing my fears and frustrations with myself, rather than looking ahead and creating a path for my way out. I believed that I was made for so much more, yet I was feeling completely "purpose-less" in life. Eventually, I began reflecting on my life and taking responsibility for my future. I realized that my weight was merely an outward expression of my purposeless feelings and it was up to me to change all that. After setting some realistic goals, I was able to lose the unneeded weight and I began creating my own happiness in life. When I saw what I was able to achieve, I began to ask, "What else am I capable of?" It was from this question that I really began to dream big for my life! A year later, I quit my well paying job and began transitioning into life coaching! I am thrilled with the new
courage that I have found in life and I enjoy coaching to a degree that makes it tough to call it my "job"!
My Education and Professional Experience:
I am originally from Austin, Texas but I currently call
Hawaii 'home'. I am a proud graduate of
Texas A&M University where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. I earned my Master's degree in Counseling from
Philadelphia Biblical University, four years later. I am well-seasoned in relating to many types of people and have served in a variety of roles over the years, including: coach, facilitator, experiential educator, student development specialist, therapist, and behavioral counselor. I am also a trained and certified
in experiential education.
Special Interest & Hobbies:
During college, I spent my summers working at a camp where I was introduced to and developed a passion for experiential education.
Experiential education involves team building activities which challenge participants in areas such as teamwork, leadership, trust and risk. Activities can include indoor and/or outdoor challenge courses, low or high ropes elements and other experiential activities. I really enjoyed being a part of this group process where people were learning and growing through their immediate experiences with each other! After college, I became a certified experiential educator, and was invited to design a challenge course for the same camp that had exposed me to this adventure-based education.
In addition to experiential education, I also enjoy playing the guitar, getting lost in bookstores, learning about other cultures, going snowboarding, playing soccer, racquetball and golf, taking pictures, cooking, staying fit and meeting new people.
